After the flood relief mission in Dengkil and Sri Muda, Rotary Club of Subang initiated “Mission 2000” to Pahang. We aim to help 2,000 families who were badly affected by floods in Mentakab, Temerloh, Bentong, and Karak by providing them with basic electrical appliances as part of their Recovery & Rebuild phases. We are planning to give away a rice cooker, kettle, stove, and cookware set.
We mobilized members and volunteers in the 1st Phase of the project #pahangrevive on 2 January 2022. We gathered in Sunway and traveled together to Pahang with the items to be distributed. It was devastating to see the post-flood damages as many houses were either destroyed or submerged with mud.
We delivered rice cookers to over 250 houses at Kampung Batu Kapur, Kampung Sungai Buloh, Taman Netas Maju, Kampung Tanjung Gayung in Mentakab and Kampung Desa Murni, Kampung Kuala Krau, Taman Sertia Murni, Taman Cengal, Tanjung Kerayong Estate in Temerloh, and Kampung Rotan , Taman Setia, Taman Tengku Ampuan and Lanchang Estate in Lanchang.
We realized the meaning of the saying “When there is a will, there will be a Way” when I saw the volunteers and Rotary members walk and stood strong against the heavy downpour and thick mud to reach the houses to deliver the items and to speak to the families.
All these wouldn’t be possible without the generous contributions from our well-wishers who helped us to achieve this first phase of Mission 2000. This is the beginning of Mission 2000-Pahang Revive, Rotary Club of Subang will be heading to Karak to help another 400 deserving families.
Join us and let’s make the change that we wish to see in our community. We look forward to assisting to rebuild the families and hope to revive their lives.
